Absolutely not. Most online courses provide you with videos to watch and expect you to figure things out on your own. That’s not what you get here with us. We know it’s not easy to become a great teacher without support. Claire and The American Yoga Academy Staff are available for you 7 days a week via phone, text, WhatsApp, email, and video calls (like Zoom, FaceTime, or Google Meet). One of the cornerstones of our program is that Claire is a pro at explaining the art of teaching and how to teach, and Martha is an excellent mentor, available to guide you every step of the way.

Towards the end of your training, you will submit a short video of yourself teaching. You will be guided step-by-step how to do this, and you’ll have samples of other teachers’ videos to review. We are available to discuss and questions throughout the process. Once you submit your video, you will have a one-on-one meeting with Claire via video call or phone to receive her guidance and professional feedback.

We have 2 types of Teachers in Training: some are focused on completing the course on their own and some that are interested in interaction with other teachers. For those Teachers in Training who want to connect with each other, there’s a wonderful student roster with the contact information of current Teachers in Training and Graduates. We can also connect you with people and studios in your area.

We encourage students to reach out and support each other. Our school is a wonderful community with like-minded people from all around the world with different professional and cultural backgrounds. It’s a great way to make friends who have similar interests. In addition, Teachers in Training can reach out to any of our 500 Hour Teachers or Graduates who are resources available to help and guide you.
