Our Mission at The American Yoga Academy is to inspire and empower people to be Health and Wellness Educators, using the beautiful ancient teachings and philosophy of Yoga in today’s world. It is our goal to inspire our Teachers in Training and Students with simple, yet powerful techniques they can incorporate into their daily lives, then taking these teachings and encouraging and inspiring others.
Claire Diab founded The American Yoga Academy in 1996 to teach people throughout the world that Yoga is for everyone and all are always welcome, whether you have been practicing yoga for many years or you are new to the experience. Yoga is more than a pose, it is a beautiful philosophy used to create union of body, mind, and spirit with the highest goal being creating union and unity with everyone and everything around us. Through the practice of movement, breathing, relaxation, meditation truthfulness, honesty, respect, loyalty, generosity, love, and kindness we can achieve this unity within our community and throughout the world. Regardless of your age, shape, size, cultural background, or religion, this beautiful philosophy is for everyone and all are welcome.
